The Journal of Economics & Development of the National Economics University (NEU) in coordination with the Faculty of Environmental, Climate Change and Urban Studies published a Special Issue, 2023 on the theme "Natural Resources, Environment, Climate Change, Urban issues and Sustainable Development" with the financial support Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and administrative support from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam under the framework of the Taiwan Studies Project in the period 2021-2024.
The Volume collected 7 papers of lecturers from Faculty of Environmental, Climate Change and Urban Studies and other faculty members of the National Economics University on interested topics such as trade in green commodities and energy security with the evidence of nonlinear linkages from international database, enhancing the circular economy capabilities of small-and medium-sized enterprises with a case study in Vietnam’s northern key economic region, determinants of urbanization in Vietnam, livelihood vulnerability assessment to climate change with an empirical study in Quang Tri province of Vietnam, community support to the sluice gates in response to salinity intrusion in Kien Giang province of Vietnam, analysis of factors affecting visitors’ satisfaction with tourism service quality at Xuan Thuy national park in Red River Delta in Vietnam, and flood vulnerability assessment using indicator-based approach and GIS analysis with a case study of Hitoyoshi city in Japan.
The Volume have significantly contributed to strengthening research capacity for lecturers of Faculty of Environmental, Climate Change and Urban Studies and NEU lecturers in the field of natural resource management, environmental protection, response to climate change, disaster risk management, urban management, and sustainable development. The Volume is also a valuable reference for students, lecturers, researchers, and policy makers in Vietnam.
